Rough week for the Famous

Wow! This week was rough for the fame and fortune set....

Farrah Faucet, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, Ed McMann - Sad really. But a bit of a reality check for us I would think. There are so many scriptures that come to mind regarding their deaths.

Here are people that supposedly had money to burn. ( I still can't understand how any one of them could have been soooooooo broke.... To think I am more financially secure than Michael Jackson, wow! I don't believe it!) To think about the amount of fame, money and influence - lives of luxury, liberties and indulgences. Captives really to all those things. Held powerless under the curse of the law of sin and death, forever scratching and clawing at ways to escape the enivitable - death!

The rich and the poor, the famous and the obsure, all find their way to the grave and without hope unless they have surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. I'm sure we will here from people seeking a moment of fame as they proclaim stories of leading these famous individuals to Christ right before their death...certainly the dead can't verify it or deny it so who knows but Christ Himself...(sorry that's the skeptic in me) - though I'd hope for it's truth, I don't trust in it.

Having become a country so fascinated with the famous, it seems if they come to Christ , Christains accept it without questions as if it validates our faith...Shame on us.
