Off and Running

Things I love about the Autumn season, The cool air, the turning leaves, the school session and new opportunities! having just finished the first week of bible studies at two different locations I am excited to see the response.
People are hungry to know who Jesus is. To learn about their wonderful Lord and Savior. It is exciting to see faces both familiar and new! I have been completely blessed that New Horizons bookstore in Coram,NY has invited me back to share with their customers. What an honor and a privilege. In addition Grace Presbyterian in Selden,NY has also invited me back to their congregation to share.
One of the wonderful things about teaching, year after year is the growth I get to take note of in the hearts of people that return. For example, having returned I saw someone pray out loud for the first time in the bible study for one of the other people's requests! That may not seem like a big deal, but it is difficult to first breach that silence and step out regardless of what others may think of their words.
What a blessing to see people ask real questions that have caused them frustration regarding the scriptures, what an awesome privilege to see spiritually hungry people eating and enjoying it, asking questions during the study and long after it was over! Changes in someone's countenance, facial expressions, hearts once hard now soft, spirit once closed now open! I'm always astounded by the incredible power of God to radically affect change in lives!
The cool refreshing wind of the Holy Spirit, the turning of our fig leaves to coverings provided by God, the wisdom that comes from sitting at the feet of Jesus and learning of Him, and the new opportunities granted to us through His Spirit and Power to minister out to others what he has entrusted to us! Truly a wonderful Season!
